Product Description

Work your entire body and tone your muscles fast with the ProForm Razor 400 ES elliptical trainer. The Razor 400 ES is equipped with a digital resistance system that lets you adjust your workout intensity at any point during the session. As a result, you can easily find the right resistance level to keep you motivated, whether you want to boost your heart rate or challenge your arm and leg muscles. In addition, the trainer features four preset SMART programs and two pulse-driven workouts. The SMART programs automatically control your resistance levels, with a pace coach keeping you on track, while the pulse-driven workouts interact with the EKG grip pulse sensors to help you stay in your target workout zone. And thanks to the blue backlit display, it's a breeze to track your workout progress, with readings for time, distance, resistance, calories burned, and pulse.

Additional features include a weight loss interval course and an interactive heart rate course; a 16-inch elliptical stride length; a built-in CoolAire workout fan; an LED pacer trainer that tells you when it's time to work a little harder or slow down; and an integrated water bottle holder. The ProForm Razor 400 ES, which supports up to 250 pounds, carries the following warranties: five years on the frame and 90 days on parts and labor.

About Elliptical Trainers
Elliptical trainers represent the next wave of advancement in low-impact cardiovascular exercise machines and continue to grow in popularity. By simulating motions experienced through walking, stepping, cycling, and skiing, elliptical machines allow for a smooth and fluid motion while building strength in the arms and legs. Similar to the exercise position for treadmills, elliptical trainers are used by standing in an upright position while holding the handrails of the machine. With elliptical trainers, however, your feet remain in the foot pedals throughout the exercise regimen and circulate in a smooth and seamless motion, resulting in little to no impact on the knees, back, and hips.

Elliptical trainers are compatible for all ages and fitness levels and allow you to select the difficulty level through the incline and intensity settings. Additionally, elliptical trainers allow you to determine the complexity of your workout based on your needs, all while listening to music, watching television, or reading a magazine while exercising in the comfort and safety of your own home.

Although different types of elliptical trainers offer an assortment of features, many of them include an array of challenging programs, forward and reverse directional movement, EKG grip pulse handles, a lightweight portable design with easy fold-up capability, and a monitor displaying calories burned, distance, speed, time, and heart rate. Other types of exercise machines, namely treadmills and bikes, offer excellent cardiovascular exercise and muscular training for the legs in a forward-motion exercise. Elliptical trainers take this to the next level by offering an upper and lower body workout with dual motion, challenging and diverse programs, and a low-impact exercise machine that won't strain sensitive joints.

user comment Proform Razor 400 ES Elliptical Trainer Good product, horrible shipping

This is a great elliptical machine. The only problem was the shipping. They package it so that it's not secure at all and just flops around in the carton the whole time it's being shipped. The box had jagged holes and the side panel as well as other parts were damaged. When I called the company they did sent out new replacement parts (had to fight to not pay for additional shipping) and the new parts were also flying around in the second shipping box. That tells me this is their normal shipping procedure (no popcorn or air-bags or styrefoam here). This time, although the pieces were scratched and chipped, they were usable, so I just don't look to hard at the damaged parts. It is an excellent elliptical, but I would suggest buying it where you can pick it up and not deal with their horrible packaging practices.

I purchased a Proform 400 series elliptical in December. Since December I have not had a properly working machine. It malfunctioned the first time I tried to use the machine. It was incorrectly assembled by Proform manufacturing and within the first use, I had an electrical malfunction. I made several attempts to contact their customer service (which is by far the worst customer service I have ever dealt with). After days of attempting to contact them and several times of being on hold up to hours at a time, I finally was able to have a service tech come out to take a look at the machine. Within three days of that malfunction being corrected a new problem began. I am a consistent exerciser and thought I could get away this time with buying a cheaper machine. Wrong, the only thing that is thinner is my wallet and the carpet where my broken machine still rests. Bottom line, poorly manufactured equipment and by far the worst customer service I have ever dealt with.

Had our ProForm 320 for 6 months with light use before it broke. Service call was $150 just to see what was wrong. Parts were another $90. Then had to get service guy back to put it all together for another $75. Total: $315. Hey, that's about what I paid for it brand new. Let's just say it is outside waiting for the garbageman. I did not buy this elliptical from Amazon. I got it from AAFES (good looking out for your Soldiers.) Proform company is subpar. That's just my opinion; take it for what it's worth.

Product was broken right out of the box. Called Proform and they offered to send me the part that they think might be broken but I have to pay for the shipping even though it was broken to begin with. Part is on back order with no estimted time of delivery. In the meantime I have a very expensive clothes hanger to dry my clothes. When I do receive the part I have to figure out how to take the old 1 off and replace with the new 1 without any instructions.
